Staff from Pacific Shore Stones, Austin joined a crowd of about 100 gathered for the midday dedication ceremony in May to see Augie Pena accept the keys to his new home. Augie was chosen by charity Operation Finally Home to receive a donated home. The charity’s mission is to provide custom made mortgage free homes to wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fallen in an effort to get their lives back on track.
The dedication ceremony included Lago Vista High School band, a flag-raising and scouts, soldiers and dignitaries. Local Jonestown mayor Deanne Armstrong was in attendance to present the certificate of occupancy. The 2,300 square foot home comprised some $200,000 in donated materials and labor. Pacific Shore Stones is proud to have donated the granite for this project, and looks forward to being involved with the organization going forward on future projects.
