Pacific Shore Stones Birmingham recently hosted the Alabama MIA Stone Summit, part of the Stone Industry Education program in conjunction with the Marble Institute of America and Stone World magazine. The event was held on Thursday July 14, and was attended by many fabricators from Alabama and the surrounding states. The day started with breakfast followed by introductions and then a town hall style discussion led by presenter GK Naquin from Stone Interiors. Jim Hieb, President of MIA, was also in attendance and gave a rousing speech at the start of the day. After lunch and a tour of the warehouse, small discussion groups were formed to focus on topics relevant to installers, such as sales, marketing, and safety. The day wrapped up with a happy hour and networking. Pacific Shore Stones was honored to host the event with our friends from MIA and Stone World, and we look forward to participating in more Stone Education events going forward.
