Austin, TX, 18 November 2013 – Following the acquisition by Pacific Shore Stones of World Stone Distributors in Charleston in September, the location hosted a grand opening party on Friday November 15th. The event was attended by well over 100 people, including fabricators, interior designers and architects, who enjoyed a buffet lunch, the chance to win door prizes and a slab raffle. The slab raffle was won by local fabricator Atlantic Stone.
Since taking over the location, several improvements have been made by Pacific Shore Stones including a newly remodeled showroom, making the space more open and inviting for customers. The warehouse has also been reorganized with more A-frames and bundle racks to allow space for new inventory. The next phase of the remodel will focus on lighting to improve the viewing conditions in the warehouse.
Currently the inventory in Charleston is double the level previously offered by World Stone Distributors, with plans to offer quadruple the old inventory levels in the coming months. Expansion is also apparent in other areas, with a new staff member, Heather Bardaville, recently joining the sales team, and the addition of an 18 wheeler to the current fleet, enabling the delivery area to be expanded to offer all of the surrounding areas plus North Carolina.
Operating Partner Vinny Tavares attended the opening celebrations, and said: “We were very pleased to welcome so many people to our opening party, and see them walking the warehouse aisles to check out the new inventory we’re in the process of bringing in. We have a large stock of core colors, and are bringing in entire blocks so that we can offer 8 or 9 bundles of matching colors for many of the most popular colors – Santa Cecilia, Napoli and Ubatuba for example. Our aim is to continue to grow the inventory level and to add more material to this in the coming months.“
